Support Sonny Starnes and his family

Hi, my name is Alek Watts, and I have created this go fund me page to raise money for my great friend, and godfather, Sonny Starnes. Sonny has recently gone through a few stays in the hospital, with another operation still to come.

A month ago, Sonny had an operation to repair his rotator cuff that has bothered him as long as I can remember. In the following weeks, while trying to fully recover from his surgery, Sonny became ill. He was taken to the emergency room and the doctors found that he had a gallstone blocking his bile duct, which led to a build up of infection in Sonny's body and a diagnosis of being septic. Sonny was rushed to surgery at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC to remove the stone. Post-op, the doctors then diagnosed Sonny with pneumonia. Sonny remained in ICU for almost a week, battling extremely hard, while he was treated for his sepsis and pneumonia. Sonny was released from the hospital on July 13 and he is home trying his best to fully recover. Once he has gained his strength back, he will return to the hospital once again for another operation to have his gallbladder completely removed.

Sonny is a loving husband to his wife, Tish, and a loving father to his son, Trae. To know Sonny is to love Sonny. He has never met a stranger, because his love for others is so great. There is a joy in his soul that is unmatched. Sonny has battled hard during this past month and he still has a long road ahead. I want to make sure that money is not something that he or his family needs to worry about.
