Hello

I am moved to help my friend be able to go celebrate her brother's life when his family and community come together and Paddle Out to honor his amazing life and legacy.

Fur Cat, aka Steve, was a surfing legend who lived in HI most of his life. He is survived by his sisters, nephews, nieces, daughter, wife, and his beloved community.

A Paddle Out is a floating memorial and a tribute to a life well lived. Being with family at these times is important. On Sunday, May 18th, the ceremony will be happening.

Traveling across the sea at this time will require asking for help to afford the opportunity to grieve and celebrate. I am asking, for my friend Sonia, the GoFundMe community for support. Holding that miracles can happen and seeing her being able to be there, in person, with the help of others and our communities.

We are also open to using miles for plane tickets and a rental car if that is something one would like to contribute.

It is hard to ask for help and I decided to take the risk. Ask and one shall receive is my approach. I so want to support my friend and godson to be able to be there with their family at this important time.
