It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my mother, Sonia Amador Gilbert. She was a source of love, strength, and the most beautiful light that stepped into every room. She touched the lives of so many, always offering a listening ear, a warm embrace, and unwavering support. Losing her has been heartbreaking, and as her daughters, family and friends grieve, we also want to ensure her final resting place is fulfilled in a meaningful way.
Her daughters would like to honor and celebrate her life by having her cremated and then having half of her ashes spread in Costa Rica, a place that held deep significance for her. It was where she found peace, joy, and connection and somewhere she always dreamed of returning to. As well as spreading the remaining half of her ashes somewhere beautiful here, where she raised her daughters and created a beautiful life for herself.
Honoring this wish is incredibly important to our family, as it will allow us to say goodbye in a way that truly reflects who she was and what she loved. Unfortunately, the costs of these arrangements have placed a financial strain on our family. We are reaching out for support to help cover the expenses of her cremation and the journey to lay her to rest in a way that reflects the beautiful life she lived.
I never imagined having to ask for help in this way, but any contribution—no matter how small—would go a long way in easing this financial stress and allowing us to grieve and heal.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. A simple share of this page would mean the world to us. Thank you for your love, support, and for keeping my mom’s memory alive. We are beyond grateful for any help during this difficult time.
With love,
