Hello everyone! I’m Miranda Davis Hamilton, the thumb sucker in the attached photo, daughter to the recipient these funds will contribute to. That’s my red-headed brother Wes Davis, my late daddy Lance Davis who passed in July of 2021 from complications of A.L.S, and my mama Sondra Davis who has just experienced a very serious and life-altering unexpected medical emergency.
On January 7th, 2025, my mother called me at 3 am and said, “I think I have a problem.” She said she could not move her right leg and that she noticed it about midnight when she had awakened to use the restroom. She struggled for nearly 3 hours tapping and pinching it, trying to wake it up, only to finally have been able to drag herself to her cell phone to place that call to me. She’s a bit hard-headed and insisted I not call an ambulance, so I hurried over, scooped her up, and ran her to the emergency room. Turns out she had suffered a stroke earlier in the day. Many tests have been run, and we have been made aware that she has had several strokes due to unmaintained long periods of untreated high blood pressure. Here we are on day 3 into what could become a lengthy hospital/rehab stay.
Mama hasn’t worked for many years as she has some other undiagnosed, uncontrolled age-related mental challenges, therefore doesn’t have medical insurance. With all the minimal comforts we each do have like electricity, water, heat, and a roof, I cannot afford health insurance for her while thankfully I am blessed to be insured through my employer. As I have been her sole caregiver and provider for over a decade now, up to and including out-of-pocket expenses on housing, utilities, groceries, auto insurance, home goods; basically everything she needs from toothpaste to legal safe transportation, I also have my own household to provide for. I am a single barren woman and have but one income. Although I have an excellent career and fine salary, working very hard, we humbly barely make it month to month.
I am seeking your assistance via monetary donations to help bridge the gap between these new unexpected medical expenses like medical supplies & equipment, home adjustments, including a ramp and bathroom stability bars on top of prescription medications, hospital and rehab facility costs until her Medicaid and Medicare and potential SSI disability goes into effect. I realize it’s a challenging time financially for everyone considering the holidays have just passed, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to reach out and ask for help. I have always just found a way to make things work, but as some of you know, I had a rough 2024 medically myself and have depleted all my savings. There is no cushion, and I’m feeling the stress more than usual, and it’s really not good for either of our health. I know The Lord will provide through you since by faith I have mustered up the courage to ask. If you will please lift my mom in healing prayer and consider contributing to this cause, I will forever be indebted to you and eternally grateful. Thank you ever so kindly.
