Support Sommer's Journey to Rebuild and Heal after Helene

My name is Stephanie Smith. I currently live in Colorado, but I am from western North Carolina. My family and friends still live there and were directly impacted by Hurricane Helene. I have created this fundraiser for my best friend, Sommer Raines, who lives in Asheville, NC.

Sommer was recently impacted by Hurricane Helene on Friday September 27, 2024 in Asheville, NC. Her apartment rental was a total loss. She is safe, but is currently operating with little to no cell service. Her massage office was also hit and she is unable to work at this time.

I have set up this fundraiser to get urgent funds to her as she works to rebuild and find a new place to live. All donations go directly to Sommer.

Sommer is a massage therapist and beloved community member of Asheville, North Carolina. She was able to get to high ground on the 27th, but could not take much with her. She was on the second story of the apartment building in these photos and water was waist high. She was able to re-enter briefly to recover limited items, but most is a loss. She currently has some food and water thanks to the amazing community support. She is so thankful she was that lucky. There are many that have far less.

Unfortunately, her renters insurance does not cover floods, so fundraisers and federal assistance are her only way to start to rebuild. Donations will be used for:
