Help Support ‘Something to Bark About’: Hurricane Aftermath

Hello, my name is Lauren Caristo and I am trying to raise funds for Something to Bark About, my cousin Addie Rediske’s dog grooming business located in Asheville NC. Hurricane Helene, as we know, has brought catastrophic devastation to the whole area. Their area is one of the harder-hit areas with 72 already confirmed deaths and hundreds still missing, many of whom are their friends and neighbors they are currently searching for. Addie and her husband Ryan are some of the lucky ones: their home is intact, they’ve regained power, and have access to well water.

However, Addie and Ryan are devastated and heartbroken by Helene’s impact on their community, and have already done so much to help everybody around them, including opening up their home to friends and neighbors for water, cooking food, and joining search teams even rescuing a 6th dog whose owner did not survive the storm. Western NC is hurting so badly. Due to the impacts of the hurricane, many animals are now homeless and owners will struggle to care for their pets in the months to come.

On behalf of ‘Something to Bark About’ we are asking for financial assistance to continue serving the community. Funds raised will go towards buying supplies, not just for their clients and their dogs but for many of the Asheville community. It will be used to cover grooming services for clients who cannot afford it due to the financial struggles that will lay ahead for many in the Asheville community. In addition, this money will go towards paying utilities and any necessary repairs/recuperation costs for Something to Bark About.
