Support Soli's Lung Cancer Battle

Dear Beloved Music Community and Beyond,

Soli has been Ventura’s music teacher for over 25 years, with hundreds of budding pianists and vocalists having come through the doors of her home and workplace, “Soli’s Music Studio”. Over the years, Soli and her students have helped foster a community across all ages and walks of life with the common language of music. While not even a global pandemic could stamp out the support of our community, we now face a new challenge.

In March of 2025, what began as a routine X-ray for back pain turned into a stage 3 small cell lung cancer (SCLC) diagnosis. This news has devastated us all… family, friends, and a music community that has shown us so much love and support over the years. But above all, it has left Soli and her studio in the balance.

Unfortunately, SCLC is an aggressive form of cancer that must be met with an equally aggressive treatment. Soli has begun her first round of radiation and chemotherapies. And while she would love nothing more than to continue teaching, it has been recommended that she minimize face-face contact during her 4-6 month treatment and focus the energy she does have on recovery.

Soli’s Music Studio is inseparable from Soli’s home. During the pandemic, a cease in business forced her to pack up the studio and move in with family. But she was always determined to return to the studio once it was safe to do so. In that same vein, she is determined to fight this cancer battle to the very end and return to work.

We are launching this GoFundMe to raise $40,000, so that Soli can take the time she needs to fight her cancer battle and open her doors to students once she recovers.
