Support Sola to get a new Kidney

Hello, my name is John. I am a medical doctor and healthcare advocate. I am raising funds for my best friend in Secondary School, Sola Akande, who needs a Kidney transplant in Nigeria. Sola developed kidney failure in 2022 after being prescribed a nephrotoxic drug (drugs that can damage the kidneys) at a healthcare facility. He has spent over 15 million naira (about 8000 pounds) on renal dialysis since then. Most funds came as donations from family, friends, and well-wishers. Kidney transplant will offer a more proactive solution and give Sola a new lease of life. He currently requires 36.2 million naira (approximately 20,000 pounds) to have a kidney transplant at a Specialist Kidney Centre, in Abuja, Nigeria. This fund will be used for the high-end laboratory investigations for both the donor and the recipient, the transplant surgeries, the medications, and the post-operative care required to have a successful outcome.

Sola is a 52-year-old civil servant, married with three children. He is a music enthusiast who has impacted the lives of thousands of youth in the last 25 years with his musical talents by coordinating choirs of different secondary schools and churches in the city of Ibadan (where he currently resides) as a community service.
