I am a mother to two beautiful children, Sila and Ahmed. Sila is five years old—and, in her own view, quite the expert on all things! She needs her monthly school tuition covered so that she can continue her education. My young son, Ahmed, was born during the war—a child of conflict, brought into the world amidst the dire necessities of such times. He requires diapers, proper nutrition, and medical care, as he suffers from malnutrition. I also support my mother, who has been battling both breast cancer and thyroid cancer; she needs help securing her treatments and maintaining a healthy diet. I am doing everything in my power to provide for my children and to offer them a safer, more secure life. Any support—no matter how small—brings a glimmer of hope to our family.
