Hi,

My name is Jessica, and my friend Sofia's gorgeous apartment caught on fire a couple of days ago. It appears her sweet, perfect dog, Duke, may have accidentally jumped on the knobs of the stove, turning it on. This quickly set fire to the stove/oven, spreading smoke and soot throughout the apartment. We are all so, so, so grateful that Sofia came home in time to save her sweet dog, but in that time, her whole apartment—clothes, furniture, books, and more—were covered in soot and ash.

While her landlord will cover the physical damages to the property, it's on her to refurbish her things and make her space livable again. She needs to wash every piece of clothing and fabric she owns, clean the carpets and upholstery, take Duke to the vet to make sure he's okay after being inside with the fire, and do a deep clean of the rest of her belongings. A lot of this will require paying outside services to do the deep cleaning—an added expense that makes it hard to meet day-to-day bills.

Any amount you could share with my dear friend would help pay for the loads and loads of laundry, professional cleaning services for the upholstery, and the extra necessary cleaning costs for her to un-ash her things.
