Hi, I am Miss Carleen and I am fundraising for Akil Johnson, a young soccer scholar from Trinidad and Tobago, currently studying at King’s University, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Akiel’s Introduction
“ I am an international student-athlete currently studying at The King’s University, Alberta, Canada. I am in my
second year at The King’s University, pursuing a four-year undergraduate degree in interdisciplinary science,
concentrating in biology and kinesiology. I am 24 years young and originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Tableland, and Princes Town, to be exact. I migrated to
Canada in 2022, in search of better opportunities that can allow me to continue to grow holistically as a young man, and help me to build a steady foundation that can provide better opportunities for myself and my family. I
am one of four children from a single-parent household.

(janitor and groundskeeper).
I am seeking financial assistance, donations and an overall support system
from various sources, including family, friends, and well-wishers to help cover
tuition fees and other expenses related to my education. These donations
serve as a significant support towards the pursuit of academic goals and
alleviating the financial burden associated with educational expenses.

healthy food security.
03. In-Kind donations - Non-monetary gifts may include items like sports equipment, grocery items, grocery cards, professional services and school supplies.

My Vision/passion
I am what you might call a health enthusiast! I believe in a total balance of body, mind and spirit. As such, I am very passionate and love learning about strategic, healthy methodologies. I love
doing research about foods, herbs, traditional medicine, and techniques that can improve the holistic health of humans. Taking care of my
body, mind, and soul goes beyond playing sports. It's my passion!
My long term goal is to one day merge my education of kinesiology with naturopathic medicine. I aspire to start my own business practice to assist persons with a wide variety of
methodologies, to heal the human body.
HOBBIES
I love pre-occupying the little, free time that I do have by reading. Some life changing and favourite books were : Power of Now, A New Earth (Eckhart Tolle), High Achiever (Tiffany Jenkins), The Alchemist (Paulo Coelo), 5 Dysfunctions of a Team (Patrick Lencioni), The Tale of Three Kings (Gene
Edwards), Power vs Force (Sir David R. Hawkins), Biomechanical Reprogramming and any other health books that I encounter.
I love being outdoors in nature, and enjoy volunteering. Apart from loving to help people, volunteering gives me
access to places and persons who I would not have had previously interacted with.
Soccer is a tool for me that I use as a vehicle to assist me in achieving my main goals. This is why I balance my life by
trying to engage in other activities. I make this a huge priority so that my life is not consumed by just sport.
