Aloha dear friends,

I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your love and support as I work to launch a new business that will help me rebuild my life. My dream isn’t to become rich—I simply want stability: the security of meeting my basic needs, the freedom to never again be forced into unsafe or harmful situations, and the ability to help others who are struggling like I have.

My journey has been long and painful.

In 2016, I survived a serious kayaking accident that left me with chronic pain, a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and complex PTSD (CPTSD). In 2020, I began to find stability again—living my dream as a turmeric and ginger farmer, sharing “liquid sunshine,” golden milk, and other fresh farm goods at the market.

Then, in 2021, everything changed.

I was assaulted and robbed. I underwent a botched surgery to remove an ovarian cyst and treat endometriosis. And, most devastatingly, my beloved niece was murdered— starved duct-taped in a dog cage her body never found her killers still not procecuted. The weight of that grief and trauma was unbearable. I lost everything—my home, my sense of peace, and my ability to work. I left that island in to regain my peace, I was homeless for a short while disregulated.

Still, I refused to give up. God saved me and delivered me.

Since then, I’ve worked every day to heal, grow, and rise above both poverty and trauma. I found housing and worked whenever I could. In the past two years, I’ve made incredible progress—but setbacks keep coming.

I fell down a flight of stairs and developed nerve damage in my neck and arm. In December, I had surgery to repair a hernia caused by my previous operation. Since then, I’ve been battling tendonitis in my wrist, making it almost impossible to work without reinjuring myself.

Most recently, while working on this very fundraiser, I was assaulted again—and my phone was thrown into the ocean. I'm doing deep reflection and taking accountability, realizing that I need to document harmful or unlawful behavior instead of confronting it directly.

Despite it all, I still believe in my vision—a small, creative business that can transform my life, provide me with stability, and eventually allow me to help others who are trying to escape similar cycles of trauma and poverty.

I’ve looked into loans but don't qualified. I don’t want to back slide into more depression or looping in the trauma. I never want to face homelessness again. I’ve come too far in my healing, and I want to keep building on that momentum.
