By now, many of you know Jaskaran Singh's situation continues to deteriorate as he struggles to remove serial squatter Sang Kim from his Bellevue home. Kim has now stayed in the house for nearly two years and refuses to leave or pay rent. This con man and liar has also convinced a King County judge to grant a Temporary Restraining Order against Singh.
The King County courts are backlogged for months with hundreds of eviction cases and sheriff's deputies won't get involved until a legal judgement is made in this case.
Meanwhile, Singh has lost tens of thousands of dollars in back rent, lawyers fees, and is in financial debt trying to fight this case. Singh is also up against a group called the Housing Justice Project backed by the King County Bar Association. This non-profit is providing free legal assistance to Kim and is somehow convincing the courts to delay any judgements in his case. This outrageous story has gone viral and shows mom & pop landlords have virtually no protections in Washington state.
Despite these challenges, Singh says he will continue to fight and protest outside his rental property until Kim is removed for good.
That's why we must now support our friend Jaskaran Singh, his wife, and his children in this struggle against a corrupt system. Due to mounting financial losses and legal fees, we must raise $100,000 for our dear friend. He has always been there for us, now we must be there for him.
