Help Rush Hour recover loss from 2 robberies

Donation protected
We are writing to you with a heavy heart and in urgent need of your support. Rush Hour has unfortunately been the target of two consecutive smash and grab incidents, which have significantly impacted us.

The first incident occurred on Friday morning, leaving a substantial hole in our building and resulting in the theft of various items. Thankfully, our high-ticket items were spared during this incident. However, our relief was short-lived as we experienced another, more damaging smash and grab on Monday morning. This second incident has been a severe blow to our operations, both in terms of physical damage to our building and loss of products.

We had high hopes of recovering some of our losses during the upcoming Black Friday sales. However, the extent of the damage now makes it impossible for us to operate from our current location. The financial strain from the loss of products and the cost of repairs is overwhelming.

In these trying times, we are reaching out to our community for support. Any form of assistance, be it financial, physical help with repairs, or even spreading the word, would be immensely appreciated. Your support could be pivotal in helping us navigate through this crisis and rebuild what we have lost.

We are opening our new location on December 2, 2023 We are hopeful to be able to resume operations but with the recent blows its a steep mountain to climb.

Thank you all for making Rush Hour a special place.

Sincerely,

The Rush Hour Family

Who/what is Rush Hour?

Sean and Key--- the owners of this small business in beautiful West Seattle Junction—they are close friends of mine and I want to share a little about them.

These two best friends have built their business together with the support of their loving families/significant others, friends and even Sean's bandmates from Cytrus. These guys have endlessly put heart, literal blood, sweat and occasional tears into building their collection from the ground up out of shoeboxes from their closets.

This business is built by incredibly kind and dedicated friends with a vision to spread their love of sustainably selling/trading vintage fashion while creating a positive cultural outlook that supports people in the community being a part of something bigger than simply just shopping at a clothing store that has cool shoes. This is a story of young people coming together to create a space that spreads the joy of curating a style that proves how you express yourself makes you feel confident and connected to the world.

Rush Hour has evolved from a dream to becoming welcomed to a spot in this community that has allowed their first storefront to thrive. In one devastating weekend-- all of the progress that they have built with their perfectly curated personal collection of vintage streetwear has been horribly vandalized and taken from them. Despite this huge physical and monetary loss, Sean and Key have felt the overwhelming love and support from the local community and their loved ones and I know they are still feeling positive that they will come back from this awful setback better together.

Sean and Key are entrepreneurs that have created a space that promotes inclusivity and resilience in a time when identity and community mean the world. This is a Black and Asian-owned small business inspired by the Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker film, Rush Hour that dreams to expand and continue to connect to the greater Seattle area to provide a space to continue building a future for society better than we found it.

Much Love— Friends of Sean & Key
