I am sooo excited to share the very big news that Slovakia can be in Antarctica for the first time. My wonderful basketball classmate from Poprad contacted me and told me about the Volcanic Seven Summit. And he was chosen to finish the last Mount Sidley (4,385) in Antarctica. Truly a historic Slovakia moment! Some peaks cannot be conquered alone.
Please help me complete this historic journey to the world’s last volcano for Slovakia.

Letter to you all wonderful Souls from Stanislav Mikšovský ( my Basketball Classmate)

I’ve been climbing mountains for more than ten years. During this time, I’ve climbed dozens of peaks both at home and abroad and gained experience that has led me to one major goal.

In 2021, I decided to take on the Volcanic Seven Summits challenge—climbing the highest volcanic peaks on every continent.

Since then, I’ve climbed Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Damavand, Pico de Orizaba, Ojos del Salado, and Mount Giluwe, where I even managed to make the first ascent via a new route, which is now known as the Slovak Route.

However, this journey has never been just about the mountains.

I had the honor of serving as a guide to help Pavol Kéri, a completely blind athlete, reach the summit of Ararat. It was then that I realized that true peaks aren’t just made of rock and ice. They are courage, perseverance, and a willingness to help others.

Today, I stand before my final goal.

Mount Sidley (4,285 m above sea level) – Antarctica.

The final volcano.

The final step.

If I manage to reach its summit, I will become the first Slovak to successfully complete the prestigious global challenge known as the Volcanic Seven Summits. A challenge that only about 70 people worldwide have completed so far.

Paradoxically, it is precisely the last step that is the hardest.

Not because of the mountain’s height.

But because of the expedition costs.

Antarctica is one of the most logistically challenging places in the world, and the expedition costs far exceed my means.

I presented my project and requested support from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Slovak Republic,
the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, and the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic.
Despite the project’s historical potential, I was unable to secure their support.

That is why I am turning to you today.

This is not just about helping with a single expedition.
It is an opportunity to become part of a historic Slovak story.

A story that began
in 2021 and is now just one step away from its
historic conclusion.

A story about how even someone from
Slovakia can achieve global success with determination, perseverance, and
the support of good people.

You may be familiar with the stories of Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards or the Jamaican bobsled team. These weren’t stories about perfect conditions or huge budgets.
They were stories of ordinary people
who, despite all obstacles,
didn’t give up on their dream.

My story is different.
But I believe it carries the same message.

Big dreams are born of determination, but they come true and thank you to the people who decide to lend a helping hand or share my story …
I’m not asking you to pay for my trip.
I’m asking for the opportunity to complete
the journey I began for Slovakia on my own and that I’ve been building for years with the belief that it will one day with have
a Happy Ending.

If you decide to support my project, you won’t be supporting just one expedition.
You will be part of
a historic moment when the Slovak flag may fly for the first time on the final
volcano of the Volcanic Seven Summits challenge.
Help me add one more historic achievement for Slovakia.
Every great story needs
someone who believes in it. I believe that mine will also find its people.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for
all your support and trust.
