My niece, Sloane, is a bright, beautiful, and incredibly strong 3-year-old who is facing something no child or family should ever have to face. Just before the holidays, doctors discovered a large mass on Sloane’s brain, and within 48 hours of that discovery, she underwent brain surgery. Sloane has been diagnosed with a grade 1 pilocytic astrocytoma and is now in recovery. As a result of the surgery, she lost much of the strength and function on her left side. Sloane is now continuing her healing journey through inpatient physical therapy, where she is working hard to relearn how to walk and regain mobility and strength in her left arm and hand. She will remain at the hospital for several weeks as she continues to heal and receive care.
Sloane is truly a tough cookie. She is brave beyond her years and surrounded by a family who loves her endlessly, including her big sister Ellie, who is 5 years old and absolutely adores her.
Any contributions will help ease the financial burden of medical bills and ongoing therapy, allowing our family to focus on what matters most, Sloane’s recovery and being there for both of the girls.
Please keep Sloane in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
