Support THE SLAPMAN: An Original Student Short Film

My name is John Donohue, and I'm a senior film student at Fairfield University. Four years have flown by and it’s time to begin my final student film. My senior thesis, The Slapman, will be my largest and most ambitious film project yet, bringing together a creative team of up to 20 individual artists, actors and crew members. The film follows the vigilante, Slapman, who seeks to put an end to the rampant crime in his neighborhood that day by day is growing worse in front of his eyes. His goal is to cut the head off of the snake who's pulling all the strings in this criminal epidemic, only to learn that there are many more monsters, and a far larger puppet master at play. This film will be a cultivation of everything I have learned, and the skills I have had the opportunity to develop within my time at Fairfield, but it won’t be easy to do alone.

How your donations will help:

With the money raised, the film will be able to be developed to its greatest potential with essential elements such as original and handmade costuming, props and set design that bring the story to life, and an original score that gives the film identity and immersion. Most importantly, it will help to ensure that all of the dedicated cast and crew are well taken care of during long workdays (up to 12 hours).
