On October 22nd, 2025, my partner and I were in a serious car accident while returning home from the food bank. Our car was totaled, my partner experienced a seizure in the middle of the road, and I sustained multiple injuries. I am incredibly grateful that we had chosen to leave Luna, my service dog, at home that day- her safety is priceless, and I can only imagine how much worse the situation could have been with her in the car.

Because of this accident- and due to my multiple physical disabilities- I am now without a car or reliable transportation. Getting to the grocery store, food bank, pharmacy, and my many medical specialists is extremely difficult. We are often dependent on Uber, which isn’t always safe or reliable, is often too small for my walker or wheelchair, and can be inaccessible for service animals despite laws protecting them. We also rely on the kindness of friends and family who live far away and may not always have the time to take out of their own busy lives to take us where we need to go.

I need a safe, reliable vehicle large enough to carry my walker to manage my health and maintain independence. A car would allow me to attend vital medical appointments, access essential resources, and safely care for both myself and my partner.
