Support Skylee's Journey to Recovery

Skylee is 4 years old and was acting like shes going on 24 until the unexpected happened. She is a bright, kind, loving, helpful, and strong-willed big sister. Last week, her parents, Javier & Mikayla (Moldenhauer) Zarate, experienced the horror of watching her wake up from her nap asking to go potty as normal, to suddenly losing control of the left side of her body and her speech. She was rushed to emergency where they found a large pool of blood in her brain. From there, she was life-flighted to Primary Children's Hospital, then into fluid drain surgery, an angiogram, and then extensive surgery to remove the accumulated blood clot and the malformed vessels causing the problem. All in the same day.

Skylee's family is familiar with Primary Children's since her mom, Mikayla, spent multiple weeks there when she was 4 and on into adulthood with a heart condition. We are grateful to them for their high level of kind, dedicated care and that Skylee is still with us. She has a challenging road ahead as she will need to relearn how to eat and talk and hopefully walk again.

Costs for Skylee's life flight, surgeries, food, extended care, transportation, and missed work will all add up quickly for the family.

Skylee's family sold their townhouse earlier this last year and moved in with Nana & PopPops (Scot & Liz Moldenhauer) while their new home was being built. They were planning to start moving into their new home the afternoon this all happened.

This is a strong, independent family that has always been responsible financially and willing to help others in need. Now, they have been given a tough trial, and they need the help and generosity of others to be able to make it through it.

Please help us rally around Skylee and her family to lighten their financial burden during this challenging time in their lives. Even a small amount can help toward expenses. They will humbly accept this help and are very appreciative of it.
