Meet Skye
Her story, and mine
Skye was abandoned on my road close to my home. She spent at least 2 nights in the cold all by herself. I was driving home late a week ago and I seen Skye in the road, it was obvious she had been run over. I tried capturing her that night and almost was successful, so we put some food in a bowl for her near the location in the woods. The next morning me and my family awakened to find Skye on our front porch! My connection to her was immediate, but she had to be surrendered to the Broome County Dog Shelter as she was not my dog. During her 10 day quarantine, not a soul claimed her, so on my second visit to see Skye I put in adoption papers for her. As of yesterday she is now officially home!
From the injury sustained by being hit by a car, Skye’s rear left leg is no longer viable :( Skye will likely be living with three legs here in the next few weeks but her scheduled surgery is expensive. Her story has hit the hearts of so many kind people who want to see Skye live a new happy and healthy life with me, Logan. I have been urged to post a go fund me for Skye for all the blessed people who have wanted to donate to Skye for her health costs! Thank you to all the people who read this and make her story go farther! Lastly I want to thank The BCDS for all their help and letting me stay close with Skye during her time there, and also her name too! My sister, parents, and Day Hollow Vet in Owego NY for all their efforts too! She is so happy to be in her forever home now!
