Help Save Skye – My Best Friend
Hi, my name is Daniel, and I’m reaching out with a very heavy heart to ask for help for my beautiful dog, Skye.
On the 23rd of May, Skye was found with strange lumps on her neck. Since then, her health has taken a sudden and heartbreaking turn for the worse. She’s been running a dangerously high fever of over 42°C for almost three weeks. She’s barely eating, she’s rapidly losing weight — now down to 6.5kg from 8.5kg — and she’s become a shadow of the vibrant, loving companion I know and adore.
Despite numerous tests, blood work, and examinations, vets haven’t been able to diagnose her condition. They’ve said she’s a “weird case” — with signs that might point to leukaemia or lymphoma, but nothing has been confirmed. The uncertainty, paired with her rapid decline, has led us to take her to a specialist veterinary hospital, where costs are mounting fast — between £3,000 and £5,000, potentially more depending on what treatment she ends up needing.
Skye isn’t just a pet to me — she’s been my anchor, my family, my best friend. I lost my little brother in December, and through the darkest, most painful moments of my life, Skye has been there. She’s the reason I got out of bed some days. The thought of losing her now, without being able to even try everything possible to help her, is devastating.
I’ve done all I can with what I have, but her care is now going far beyond what my pet insurance can cover. I’m reaching out to anyone who might be willing to support us — even a small amount would make a huge difference. Every pound helps give Skye a fighting chance, and brings us closer to answers and hopefully, treatment.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page. Skye means the world to me, and I just want her to have the best chance at getting better.
Thank you for reading and for any support you can give.
With gratitude,
Daniel & Skye
