Dear friends and family,
My dad, Sky Allen, started working at age 14 and hardly took a sick day even while working two jobs as both a minister and clinical therapist. He enabled several churches to become debt-free, and was on track to become debt-free himself by the time he retired. Unfortunately, life had different plans for him. In 2021, he was diagnosed with a serious illness that required medical treatments which inadvertently damaged his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He is pictured here in a rehabilitation facility, trying unsuccessfully to pedal a recumbent bicycle.
After rehab, he was provided a wheelchair and needed a modified vehicle to get to his many doctor’s appointments as well as church services. Wheelchair vehicles are insanely expensive because the modifications can cost almost as much as the original vehicle, but that was his best option. He is not one to ask for help, and tends to be very private about his physical condition, but I know he would appreciate any and all financial assistance you could give. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page would be useful. And prayers for a miracle are especially welcome. Please help him reduce stress and keep as much independence as he can in his life.
Thank you!
