What began as what should have been a routine procedure to treat a gallstone turned into a sudden and life-threatening medical crisis for Skot. After undergoing treatment for a gallstone blockage, Skot developed severe complications, including pancreatitis, followed shortly by necrotic pancreatitis. This dangerous condition caused part of Skot’s pancreas to become damaged and infected. He was rushed back to the emergency room just in time to avoid sepsis and has now spent nearly a month in hospitals and intensive medical care. Since then, Skot has endured multiple procedures, surgical drains, serious abdominal infections, and is currently unable to eat normally, relying on intravenous nutrition while doctors closely monitor recovery.
Skot is now being transferred to a skilled nursing facility and faces a long healing process that could take months. Because of this sudden medical emergency, he is unable to work and has lost his primary source of income while everyday living expenses continue to pile up. As a freelancer, his income stopped abruptly while rent, utilities, food, transportation, insurance, medications, and other essential expenses remain. Donations will help relieve some of the immediate financial pressure so Skot can focus on healing, regaining strength, and eventually returning to work and daily life.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read, donate, share, or send support. This has been one of the most difficult experiences of Skot’s life, and every bit of help truly makes a difference during this long road to recovery. Your kindness, encouragement, and support mean more than words can express.
