Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read this. It isn't great that I need to make one of these, but I was advised it might be the best course of action, and have dreaded doing so. I apologize if any of it sounds strange and weird. I haven't had to type up anything like this before!

A bit about myself for those that don't know! I am 39, and enjoy doing things like art, running or playing in tabletop. I work both insurance inspections and do streaming to make ends meet. Always like to meet and befriend new people!

Felt like it was worth typing that before the more depressing part.

Mid-Late last year I collapsed and head to go to the ER. At the time, the doctors were unable to locate anything that needed immediate attention. Since thing, I have been getting scans, blood tests and everything imaginable under the sun to find out what caused it. And they might have.

Behind my left eye is a lesion, or cyst or something. Doctors were fairly certain ruling out cancer which is a blessing, but whatever it is needs to come out, as it is causing pressure in the area and could be to blame for some of my new, ongoing problems. The surgery will require them to go through the sinuses to remove it. While a very low chance, there is a nonzero percentage that it could damage my eyesight, or outright make me blind, as my left eye is my only functioning eye.

I admit I am a little terrified. I am unfortunately single and live on my own. My current job does not pay for this level of medical. Not even close. On the other side of this surgery, I will have to find a new job as well as I cannot be off-call that long. As much as I would love to do whatever it takes to make this money myself, it is unrealistic.

The proposed amount is to cover the surgery, helping family come and stay down to take care of me while I am recovering, and to help cover rent as I scramble for a new job once I recover.

I understand things are terrible out there right now. I understand people cant afford to help people much. It you can't, just passing along the word would leave me grateful.
