The Central Coast Needs a Voice. Let’s Help Build It.
The Central Coast is on the verge of something powerful — a new era of journalism that’s independent, fearless, and driven by truth, not politics.
At the heart of this mission is Skaie Hull, an award-winning journalist with more than a decade of frontline reporting for 7NEWS, ABC, Prime7, NBN News, WIN News, and local radio. She’s launched Coast Uncovered — a digital-first media platform designed to expose what others won’t, amplify the voices of everyday people, and hold decision-makers to account.
This fundraiser will help with set up costs for a newsroom in Toukley and fund more journalists and camera operators which will improve the quality and quantity of local news
This isn’t just another news website.
It’s a movement — and a fresh start.
A Journalist Who Gets Results
Skaie has spent her career chasing real stories — not headlines crafted in boardrooms.
She’s been at the forefront of the battle to save homes from being swallowed by the sea, not just reporting from the sidelines, but pushing for action when no one else would. Her relentless, never-back-down approach forced attention onto a crisis that was being ignored — and gave vulnerable residents a chance to fight back.
Her stories have echoed from courtrooms to council chambers to the state’s top offices — sparking conversations and demanding accountability where silence once reigned.
Now, she’s turning her focus to the homelessness crisis, demanding real, supported housing options for the people currently sleeping in parks, cars, tents in the bush and motels.
But It’s Not Just Crisis Coverage
Coast Uncovered isn’t here to dwell in doom and gloom. It’s about the full story of the Central Coast — the good, the gritty, and the great.
Uplifting community stories that rarely get coverage
Local voices that big media continues to ignore
Grassroots sport and local legends worth celebrating
And above all — keeping local news free, open, and without a paywall
(Because truth should never be behind a subscription.)
As Skaie builds her team, she’s creating a newsroom that reflects the real Central Coast — one with heart, courage, and connection.
She’s Always Put the Community First
Skaie is more than a journalist — she’s a genuine advocate for the region.
She’s a proud ambassador for Central Coast Kids in Need, raising awareness and funds for families with seriously ill children. She supports causes including mental health, domestic violence prevention, and coastal protection — always using her voice to stand up for those who can’t.
Now, through Coast Uncovered, she also plans to mentor and train local youth in media and storytelling — giving the next generation the tools to report, question, and lead.
