We are a group of 16 San José State University students (both grad and undergrad) who have the opportunity to visit Japan in January for a two-week study abroad course! Led by professor Gordon Douglas from the SJSU Department of Urban and Regional Planning, we will visit Tokyo, Kyoto, and Fukuoka. The course provides a once in a lifetime experience where we will learn about urban design and planning from some of the largest and most advanced urban areas on earth. With an emphasis on topics such as urban transportation, local and global culture, water infrastructure, and resiliency planning, we hope to bring what we learn back to California to improve our own cities.
The trip is, of course, rather expensive for many SJSU students, so we are raising money to help with the costs. Any contribution really makes a difference in helping us afford to participate in this unique opportunity. Thank you!
