Our best friend, Sixca, was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, also known as AML. This diagnosis came as a complete shock to all of us and has changed her life in ways none of us could have prepared for.

Sixca is currently receiving treatment away from home, which makes this already difficult journey even harder. During a time when anyone would want to be surrounded by close family and familiar comfort, she is having to face so much uncertainty while being away from the people and places that bring her the most support.

She is also an incredible first-generation, low-income (FGLI) college student who has always worked so hard for her future. Sixca is dedicated, driven, and deeply committed to her education. She prioritizes her academics and puts her heart into everything she does, always pushing herself to keep going even when things are difficult.

Now, Sixca is facing one of the hardest battles of her life. As her friends, we are creating this GoFundMe to help support her through treatment and ease some of the financial stress that comes with this unexpected diagnosis. The funds raised will go toward medical expenses, treatment-related costs, transportation, daily needs, and anything else that may help Sixca during this time.
