Hi there everyone,
If you know us you probably know our mom Sissy. You know she is a strong independent woman.
On June 22 at 2am she knocked on Sam's door, asking to go to the hospital. Sam took her in, they ran tests and a CT Scan at which they found 3 aneurysms. Two were located in the forehead and one by the ear. They transferred her to another hospital at which they tried a low invasive procedure. This did not work so they once again she had to be transferred but this time they Lifeflighted her to Orlando.
By the time we got to the hospital she was in a aneurysm clipping surgery. It was a long surgery and very long time before we can see her after. They removed a portion of her skull on the left side, went under the brain and clipped the two aneurysms in the front. The other one might or might not be a issue in the future. We found out later she had a mini stroke somewhere along the time so her face is has a very subtle droop. They told us she was lucky to be alive because most don't.
Today is day 3 of a long recovery for her. She will be undergoing multiple tests, dopplers, etc for at least 21 days in the hospital. If she does well then she will be going into a rehabilitation center until they are confident she will be safe to finish recovery at home. We do not know how long that recovery will take. She is definitely not out of the woods though. She will be under critical care for a while.
This gofund is mainly for anything that can help us all along the way to help her through recovery. Who knows what things may come up with the hospital is 2 hours away whether it be gas money just to be with her, food money if needed, help with her medical bills and longer term expenses for her when she is in the clear.
If you are unable to donate our family appreciates any thoughts and prayers that you are sending.
