Hi, my name’s Luned and my sibling Sion (they/them) is a trans non-binary person seeking community crowd funding to support getting private top surgery. Any funds will go towards Sion’s top surgery (deposit, consultation, the surgery itself and any costs to support Sion after the surgery).

Sion had been on the NHS waiting list for many years, and has had their top surgery moved and postponed three times now. Yesterday, on 27th August, just one day before the surgery in Manchester, Gender Services Wales called Sion to let them know that all gender affirming surgeries for Welsh patients were going to be cancelled. Not postponed - straight out cancelled. This comes after a complete political shift towards scapegoating trans people and rife transphobia, which is only being worsened by the Government’s failings in supporting and upholding trans rights and human rights.

This surgery is incredibly important to ensure Sion can live their life as themselves, feeling comfortable in their body, and would have an immensely positive effect on their wellbeing. This is critical gender affirming care for Sion.

Ddoe ar y 27ain o Awst, y diwrnod cyn y lawdriniaeth ym Manceinion, fe gysylltodd Gwasanaeth Rhywedd Cymru i ddweud fod pob triniaeth addasu rhywedd i bobl traws o Gymru yn cael ei ganslo.

Mae hyn yn gwbl afresymol ac yn bolisi trawsffobig gan Lywodraeth Prydain.

Heb y lawdriniaeth angenrheidiol yma mae Sion yn wynebu blynyddoedd o fyw yn anhapus a rhwystredig.
