Support Simon's Fight Against Neuroendocrine Cancer

Donation protected
I'm creating this on behalf of my brother, Simon (57), who was diagnosed with neuroendocrine carcinoma stage 4 at the end of August 2025. The cancer was diagnosed late, and it is advanced.

The cancer was blocking his upper intestine, which required surgery straight away. He had to recover from the surgery before he could start chemotherapy. His oncologist told him he would only have a few months without treatment. He started chemotherapy last week and is also committed to trying all alternative therapies available to give him the best chance of more time with his family. All he wants to do is get well, get back to teaching, and watch his children grow up. He has two adult daughters from his first marriage (he is so proud of them), and two little boys, 2 and 4, with his wife.

Simon's biggest worries are for his wife and children - both time and money are tight. He is unable to work due to his treatment and doesn't qualify for disability benefits since his wife is employed and is continuing to work during this extremely difficult time in order to support their family financially. Somehow, they are managing to keep it together. The family is focused on trying to keep life as normal as possible for the boys, managing the challenges as his treatment unfolds, and doing all they can to prepare for what lies ahead. Simon is very concerned about making sure he can prepare and take care of whatever he can for them. He is doing this to the best of his ability while focusing on his treatment and dealing with a great deal of pain and discomfort.

Simon and his family live in Auckland, New Zealand. I live in California and have been in the US for over 20-years. I thought setting up this fundraiser was one way I could help them from here. All funds raised will go to support the family manage the costs of treatment. Anything you can do to help and support their family will be appreciated tremendously.

A message from Simon ~
Take care of yourselves and each other, and remember life isn’t forever. Forgive those you need to forgive, be kind, and show your love freely.

Thank you.
