Early on Tuesday, August 27, a fire broke out in the building where Silvana, Carlos, and Matteo lived. Thankfully, they are safe. The fire started in a neighbor’s apartment, but the entire building was heavily damaged by the water used to extinguish the flames, leaving their home uninhabitable and many of their belongings ruined. According to the construction company, rebuilding their apartment will take between 8 to 12 months.

Since the beginning of this year, they had planned a trip to Chile, which is already covered. This will allow them to stay with family for a month and, in the midst of this painful situation, give them a much-needed moment of relief. However, once they return, they will face the real challenge of navigating the financial burden of living while waiting for their home to be restored.

For now, they have been offered a temporary place to stay, but in times like this, every bit of help is invaluable. Each contribution, whether big or small, will make a meaningful difference in bringing them stability and comfort during this uncertain journey.
