Hello! I’m Katelyn. My family recently embarked on a journey of fostering a new puppy with the intent of adopting him after the fostering period. His name is Silas (formerly, Turkey Baster). He was brought into the Central PA Humane Society from a hoarding case in the area. We brought him home just short of a week ago.

Little did we know, Silas was sick when we brought him home. We took him into the emergency vet and he tested positive for the parvovirus. Parvovirus is an extremely contagious virus found in dogs and can even be fatal without proper treatment.

Before we were able to get him into the care of the Humane Society, the emergency vet treated him and expenses began to rise.

Unfortunately, this is just not something we were prepared for.
