Support for Silas Blank – A 6 year old little boy from Louisiana with Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Silas Blank is a brave and silly 6-year-old who is full of life and laughter—until everything changed on September 10th, 2025.
What began as a routine visit to the pediatrician for a mild fever quickly turned into every parent’s worst nightmare. Within hours, Silas was admitted to the hospital. Over the next six days, he underwent multiple blood and platelet transfusions, countless tests, and was ultimately diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL).
Now, Silas and dad and mom (Cody and Savena Blank), are at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, preparing to begin a long two-year journey of intensive chemotherapy and treatment

Unfortunately, neither my employer’s FMLA nor my wife’s covers time off to care for a spouse or child, meaning we will receive no income during this period. That’s okay—we know any loving parent would do the same. We will be by Silas’s side no matter what it takes, even if that means withdrawing from retirement savings or selling personal belongings.

Silas loves playing baseball and riding his bike. As a father of four and a coach to many, I can confidently say, Silas is the sweetest, kindest child I’ve ever known. If you know him, you know that to be true.

Now, instead of running around and having fun like most kids his age, Silas faces a schedule filled with doctor visits, hospital stays, road trips, procedures, and chemo treatments—things no child should ever have to endure.

The road ahead will be long. There will be many tests, procedures, and moments of uncertainty. But our focus is on being fully present for our son as he fights this battle.

We are humbly asking for your support—whether through a donation, sharing this page, or lifting our family up in prayer. Any funds raised will go directly toward medical bills, mortgage and auto payments, utilities, and travel expenses while my wife and I are caring for Silas.

We are a family rooted in faith. In Luke 11, the disciples didn’t ask Jesus to teach them how to perform miracles—they asked Him how to pray. We believe in the power of prayer. That’s why we named our son Silas—after the Silas in Acts 16:25-26, who prayed in prison until the walls fell down. We’re believing that these cancer walls will fall, too!
  • Matthew 17:20 says, “Faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains.”
  • Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
We’re holding on to that promise and trusting that healing is coming—it’s only a matter of when.

Finally, to all of you—friends, family, and even strangers—who have supported us with your kindness, generosity, and prayers: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your love means more than you know.
