Hi everyone, my name is Taylor, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my sister, Sierra. We are reaching out for support during one of the most challenging times that Sierra has ever faced.

What was supposed to be a joyous occasion, the birth of Sierra’s healthy baby boy, turned into a medical emergency. Following a C-section, Sierra has faced severe unexpected complications that required two additional abdominal surgeries to save her life and repair the damage.

After the initial C-section on April 17th, we hoped she could start healing. Instead, Sierra developed severe abdominal pain over the course of a couple of days, sending her to the ER where she found out she had a total bowel obstruction. She was helicoptered into surgery where she had to have part of her intestinal tract removed. After spending four days in the hospital, she was discharged to go home.

But within three more days, the severe pain returned, sending her back to her local ER. She was rushed to a larger hospital yet again from two large abscesses due to complications of the surgery. She has since been in the hospital, healing with drains on her sides, with her newborn baby ever since.

The physical and emotional trauma of this experience is immense. Sierra is a strong, loving mother and person, but she is currently unable to care for herself, let alone a newborn baby, due to the intensity of these multiple procedures.

Because of these unexpected surgeries, the medical bills are mounting rapidly. Sierra is unable to work, and her boyfriend has had to take additional time off from work to support her and care for their new baby. We are raising funds to cover:
