WHO I AM + MY STORY

Hello, my name is Sierra, and my mission is to help people feel more connected and whole. I’m committed to creating experiences where people become more aligned with their bodies.

 

When covid hit, I lost my job, and it was my permission slip to choose a different path. I observed that physical touch was missing for so many of us and I decided to go to massage school. It was a dream that I had wanted for over 15 years.

 

It was the best decision I ever made. I knew from that very first class, this was it. I grew up around healers and I saw firsthand the impact of safe touch from a young age. Coming from a multicultural background, I know that massage often felt like a privilege for some rather than a health practice for all. I want to change that.

 

Everyone deserves to feel at home and in harmony with their body. Intentional massage and integrative bodywork is one way to access physical and mental healing.

 

My goal is to build a full-service massage business. A business that offers flexibility and accessibility for all. I will provide integrated experiences where a client can choose a traditional massage if that’s what they prefer and they can integrate other practices, guided by me, like breathwork, mindfulness and movement medicine as a more holistic approach to their wellness.

 

 

WHY I AM RAISING THE MONEY

 

I’m raising this money because I know firsthand how easy it is to disconnect from the body as a means of survival. This disconnect can leave us feeling separate, hopeless and unworthy. We are experiencing this in the world right now. I want to disrupt that by creating a business focused on providing holistic experiences.

 

It is clear that the benefits of massage, mindfulness and movement can open up a healing process and create harmony within. When we begin to mend this connection with ourselves, it ripples into our communities and the rest of the planet.

 

Many wellness businesses cater to particular populations and represent a luxury service. While that has its function, I see a gap, and I’m committed to building a business where people become empowered in their bodies.

 

WHAT THE FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR

I will use these funds to invest in the proper equipment, software, education and tools to ensure the business is accessible, inclusive and safe.

 

The funds will also be used to invest in a specialized consultant who can properly educate me on the inherent biases that are present when building a wellness business. That way, I can actively fight against racism, gender and body discrimination through my choices. I will continue to do the work on my own so that every client feels seen and honored.

 

A portion of the money will be used to start a community fund. Here folxs can nominate a person--who may not otherwise have the means, transportation or time for self care-to receive a free massage. I will pick two people each month, work with them and provide a massage at no cost!
