Support Siena's Battle Against Cancer
Donation protected
During Siena’s spring break last month, she was given a diagnosis no one expected. Siena has a Neuroendocrine tumor in her right lung that has collapsed her right lower lobe. It apparently has been there for a while, and it is a blessing that the tumor is localized to just that area. Siena is scheduled for surgery later this month to have the tumor “evicted,” but she may also lose a part of her lung. Due to her diagnosis, Siena was unable to return to campus at Appalachian State University, but the school is working with her to finish the semester remotely. Since learning of her diagnosis, Siena has been incredibly strong, mature, and level-headed. There hasn’t been a “why-me” moment during the hospitalizations, the bronchoscopy, or the many scans she has had.
Even after the “eviction” of the tumor, the doctors are unsure what treatment or long-term effects she might have. The focus is to remove the entire tumor to ensure the cancer does not come back or need further treatment. The entire staff at ECU/Maynard’s Children’s Hospital in Greenville, NC, have been absolutely fantastic.
We have created this GoFundMe at the encouragement of friends to help with the medical bills that have just started to come in and there will be so many more.
