We are reaching out on behalf of Shruthi, a victim of domestic violence who has endured physical, sexual, and mental abuse at the hands of her husband. She had gone through medical treatment multiple times due to the injuries inflicted upon her, some of which have been very painful. In November, during Thanksgiving, after another incident of abuse, Shruthi was taken to urgent care. The hospital staff, suspecting the situation was not real, and called the police. When Shruthi's husband noticed the police arriving, he assumed she had reported him and abandoned her without food or money, leaving the country for India. He has been threatening her since then Surviving only on plain rice and chana as that was the only thing at home, Shruthi faced this hardship alone as her parents were helpless too. When I visited her, she appeared like a human skeleton, her body severely malnourished and frail. Since then, I have been working to assist her with maintaining her status in the US. After much effort, she has finally received an I-20 from a university. Although I’ve been able to help with groceries and other essentials, as well as her I-20, Shruthi still needs financial support. Her visa is soon expiring, and she requires funds to cover USCIS fees for her premium visa processing. Additionally, she requires help with sustenance and legal services as she continues her fight for survival.
Your support can make a significant difference. She needs your help, now more than ever.
