Support Shreya Healing Journey After Traumatic Car Accident

Donation protected
Hello, My name is Shreya Sudhir Kadav. I am a recently graduated international student from The University of Toledo. Recently, on June 1 2025, I went through a severe car accident while travelling to ISKCON temple. Due to this accident, I suffered multiple injuries most of which were fatal. During the accident, two cars hit the car that I was in and one car hit the pole. I was told that the airbag in front of my seat did not open and I got unconscious on the site of accident. I have lost the memory of that accident due to brain trauma. When I was taken to the hospital, they had to perform an emergency brain surgery due to excessive internal bleeding in the brain (epidural hematoma with loss of consciousness), fractures in the skull (open fracture of temporal bone and closed fracture of frontal bone), respiratory issues (acute hypoxemic respiratory failure) and excessive loss of blood (Thrombocytopenia and acute blood loss anemia). Because of this traumatic incident, I had to go through multiple life-threatening surgeries and the doctors had to put me under sedation for a week and spent 11 days in the ICU. They had to put breathing tube for respiration through my neck. I had double vision for over 15 days and I was in the hospital for 18 days. I could barely open my eyes and still cannot eat properly because of the facial swelling and fractures. I have stitches on my head from ear-to-ear. I also had to go through the lumbar puncture which was very painful because I kept having fevers due to fluid leaking from the stitches in my brain. The doctors had to put a tube into the middle of my brain and when they tried to remove it twice, the pressure in my brain increased and they had to stop the procedure both the times. I lost my appetite, I couldn't eat due to the swelling and extreme pain that lead to me fainting twice and loosing my vision for a couple minutes. I still suffer very bad headaches even now. The pain meds don't help me much. I also loose my balance while walking and my legs still hurt.

I just graduated and was looking for a job and because of this accident, I will have to spend many months to recover from this traumatic incident causing emotional and financial distress to my family. This accident didn’t just injure my body — it derailed my future. The emotional toll has been overwhelming. Some days, I feel a deep sense of grief for the life I was supposed to be living. I’ve cried from frustration, from pain, and from fear of the unknown. I wake up from nightmares. I’ve gone from planning my future to being dependent on others for the most basic tasks. This sudden loss of control and identity is heartbreaking. What was supposed to be a time of celebration for my family has turned into a period of survival.

My family and friends have been doing everything they can to support me, but it has been incredibly hard on them as well. Please help me pay off my medical bills. Every donation, every share, every kind word makes a difference.
