Welcome to Short Term Fun!

Jake Epstein, Hayley Kastner, and Rob Cesareo are currently working on producing Short Term Fun, an original one-hour comedy showcase, as their senior capstone at Hofstra University, and they need your help to make it unforgettable!

Short Term Fun is a late-night variety comedy showcase that discovers tomorrow's biggest stars—tonight. The sketch show is a comedy-fueled all-nighter with the funniest new talent you'll brag about seeing first. Built by comedic minds who have worked at SNL, Comedy Central, HBO, Second City, The Upright Citizens Brigade, The PIT, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, and standup clubs across New York, the show has a high-energy mix of razor-sharp standup, rapid-fire sketches, topical content, immersive music, and short-form comedy films done in front of a live studio audience. This show is built for the social media generation's attention span but designed for the thrill of live performance. In a world moving faster than ever, with trends coming and going overnight, Short Term Fun is the show that captures the now—because tomorrow, everyone will be talking about it and catching tomorrow's biggest stars before the rest of the world wakes up.

Meet the Team!

Jake Epstein is the ShowRunner of Short Term Fun. Through his work with Saturday Night Live and Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, Jake has learned how the best comedy variety shows run at the highest level and is creating a new variety show for the generation that grew up with shorter-form content. Jake has proven to be a driven leader who brings experience, enthusiasm, and high-level problem-solving to every production. He has achieved high academic success and earned awards as a broadcaster. Jake interviewed former United States presidents, members of Congress, NFL players, and musicians with millions of listeners. He's an aspiring producer and writer, and he is finishing a Bachelor of Science in Video and Television Production from Hofstra University. He's looking forward to using Short Term Fun to change how live comedy is presented.

Hayley Kastner is a Television and Business student at Hofstra University and the co-producer of Short Term Fun. She has a passion for all things comedy. She interned with Comedy Central this past summer and is the co-producer of Thursday Nite Live, her university's live award-winning sketch show. Her lifetime goal is to write and eventually produce her original television show. She knows that her work on Short Term Fun will push her even closer to that goal.

Robert Cesareo is the Production Manager for Short Term Fun. Rob is a second-semester senior majoring in television production. After obtaining their coveted broadcast engineering internship, Rob will work with the Mets this upcoming season. Rob is one of the founders of Hofstra's robust sports media program, where he currently works hand in hand with Hofstra Sports Media as their Operations Manager, broadcasting games and training the next generation of industry professionals. His current long-term goal is to be a technical director for live sports. His short-term goal is to work in broadcast engineering on Short Term Fun to gain more experience managing technical operations.
