Hi all!
We're team The Fang Gang and we're raising funds for Locally Sourced, a short film being created for the Mighty Asian Moviemaking Marathon (MAMM)
MAMM is an annual short film-making competition held by the Vancouver Asian Film Festival to foster and showcase emerging Asian and mixed Asian filmmakers.
Filmmakers are tasked with fully producing a 10-min short film, from production to post, within a ten day period.
MAMM currently provides a $1000.00 stipend, and any additional costs are the responsibility of the filmmaker - (Zaarin's pocket y'all).
Why We Need Your Help:
We are producing this story through the generosity of a talented and experienced cast and crew who are all volunteering their time.
We need your support to help cover production costs, including gear rentals, meals for our incredible but volunteer cast and crew, travel costs, kit fees and more. Although the MAMM stipend covers a small portion of an extremely low-budget film, we have a lot to go before we're ready to save anyone- wait I mean make this film.
Your support will directly help us bring this story to life!
Whether you donate $5 or $50, every bit helps. We'll be sure to thank you in our credits (or not if you prefer to remain anonymous)
Thank you for supporting Locally Sourced!
Logline:
When a couple’s “locally sourced” dinner turns into an unexpected ted-talk about their divided community, sinking their teeth into common ground proves to be a challenge.
Synopsis:
Gwen and Ben are a picture-perfect suburban couple. Polite, progressive, and just trying to do things the right way. Sure, they’re vampires, but they shop ethically, avoid necromancy, and only feed on people who “won’t be missed.” When Ben surprises Gwen with a fresh, live human instead of their usual packaged blood, their dinner spirals into a tense and bizarre discussion about unity, civility, and their place in a divided society. But just as things begin to heat up, a pair of rogue vampire hunters crash the meal. Locally Sourced is a dark comedy-horror short that skewers performative allyship, “both-sides” rhetoric, and the contradictions beneath polished good intentions.
