We are raising funds for Fawaz, a 57-year-old father of five in Palestine, who has suffered unimaginable violence and is now in urgent need of medical care.

On the morning of his son’s wedding, Fawaz was on his way to pray at the local mosque. He never made it. Without warning, he was shot by security forces near a flying checkpoint. After 30 days in a coma he woke up and learned he had been shot in the face and shoulder. His skull was damaged and has now been replaced. His jaw remains destroyed which means that he cannot chew or eat solid foods. Therefore, he has lost weight, strength, and hope. He also suffers from partial paralysis, chronic pain, insomnia, and trauma. He needs urgent jaw and dental surgery.

Fawaz currently has a dedicated medical fund managed by the Lutheran church in Jerusalem, set up to cover the cost of his jaw and dental surgery. There is still need for at least 8 000 USD to ensure surgery can go head. All funds through this campaign will be transferred directly to his medical fund at the church.
