In September, I suffered a stroke that left me hospitalized for 11 days. My blood pressure was dangerously high, and I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis that runs from my lower spine all the way up to my neck. Since then, I have had to rely on a walker, and my left side is now slightly paralyzed. This has made everyday tasks incredibly difficult and has changed my life in ways I never expected.

Because my body is so fragile, I am unable to work. I have no money left in my account, and I no longer have a bank account at all. My phone is about to be turned off, which makes it nearly impossible to coordinate with doctors, manage my care, or keep in touch with loved ones. I am struggling to pay for rent, car insurance, and other basic bills, and I have no source of income coming in. The weather has even delayed my Social Security appointment, leaving me with no idea how I will cover my most urgent needs.
