On February 4th, 2026, I received the life-changing diagnosis of aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I began chemotherapy immediately, and while I am doing everything I can to fight this illness, the financial burden is overwhelming. My only income is Social Security, and Medicare covers just a portion of my medical expenses. This leaves me with significant out-of-pocket costs before Medicare covers the rest, not to mention the ongoing costs for personal health items I need to manage the side effects of treatment.
