This is a personal request:
I'm sure everyone is being inundated with opportunities to give, understanding and recognizing the importance of giving צדקה before the יום הדין.
This cause hits very close to home.
The wonderful Menaheles of Bnos Shoshana, Mrs. Leibenstein, is experiencing a very challenging situation at the moment.
Her wonderful, beautiful daughter, Shira -s Shulamis was in a terrible car accident. Most internal organs have been affected, she is intubated and sedated, needing many, many surgeries. Here is the update that Mrs. Leibenstein shared tonight:
We are so happy to share that Boruch Hashem Shira began opening her eyes today!
She is still in a coma and will be going through spine surgery tomorrow b'ezras Hashem, now that the doctors see she is beginning to hopefully wake up.
Thank you again for your tefillos and kabbalos. It is clear to us that this is what is shaking shomayim!
A friend who is a doctor of emergency medicine read the medical summary and explained that quite a few of the injuries that Shira sustained could be life-threatening, and we are overflowing with hodaya that Shira is alive, despite that! We look forward to sharing wonderful news!
I can't begin to describe the positivity that Mrs. Leibenstein is infusing all of us with through HER struggle and the beauty in which they are accepting and going through this horrific challenge. You can imagine life suddenly being thrown in all directions, as the only destination becomes HOSPITAL.
In addition, another daughter is bezras Hashem getting married in a bit more than a month.
Financially, navigating this medical crisis and making a wedding is a challenge.
There are more than enough nisyonos that this family is dealing with right now.
Let's collectively ease the financial strain that this accident has caused and also help with simchas chosson vkallah.
If you want to contribute, please Zelle me (yehudissaulkin@) whatever you can with a note in the memo for family Leibenstein. If you send the donation through Zelle, we aren't charged a percentage. If you can only use a credit card, please use this page!!
It should be a zchus for you before the yom hadin.
I would love to put together for her a binder of notes and cards offering support and chizzuk as well. If you have the time to jot down a few words and email them to me, it would be so appreciated!!
Feel free to forward, I would love to help her with substantial relief.
Besuros Tovos.
May we know no more tzar.

PS.As much as donating is of tremendous help and support, the real change occurs when we change ourselves: Here is an initiative launched with encouragement from Mrs. Leibenstein:
We are all in a state of pain, shock and concern. These days are crucial for all of us. Asher Yatzar has a special koach! Especially for refuah!
Please join our Bnosh Asher Yatzar Campaign!
