Help Shingie Katsvere Heal After a Sudden Heart Attack and Stroke
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to support someone very special to us, Shingie Katsvere, a bright, determined 28-year-old athlete whose life was forever changed on May 10, 2025.
The Sables Trust and the ZRU have looked after all of Shingi's bills to this point, including a 2 week stay at HealthPoint, to which we are extremely grateful for.
Shingie, a passionate national rugby player known for his energy, strength, and unwavering dedication, suffered a major heart attack followed by a stroke, a heartbreaking and unexpected event for someone so young and full of life. This sudden crisis has left him facing a long, difficult road to recovery.
Right now, Shingie is in stable condition, but he needs intensive rehabilitation, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy to regain movement and function—especially on the left side of his body.
For those who know Shingie, you know the kind of person he is: uplifting, compassionate, and always the first to lend a hand or share a smile. On and off the field, he brought light to others. Now, it’s our turn to rally around him.
This tragic event occurred as he was preparing to return to his club in France, where he continues to pursue his athletic career. Instead, Shingie is now facing the greatest challenge of his life—relearning how to move, speak, and live independently through long-term rehabilitation.
How You Can Make a Difference
The financial burden of his recovery; covering rehab, medication, specialized equipment, and day-to-day care is immense. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward Shingie’s treatment and healing journey.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network. Your support, whether financial, emotional, or through spreading the word can help give Shingie a fighting chance to reclaim his life and independence.
