Who I Am:

My name is Shiloh. I’m an eight-grade student at Santa Cruz Waldorf School. Music has always been a part of who I am, and my mom says that I have been singing since I was a toddler. Specifically, I have always loved singing songs by Michael Jackson, and one of my favorite songs to sing is: Will You Be There? In addition to singing, I also write songs and poems, and I play the piano, guitar, and violin.

What I do:

I’m currently working on my eight-grade project, which is an integral part of the curriculum at my very awesome school. Throughout the year, we have been responsible for all aspects of our own project. I developed my initial idea, decided on a goal, and found my super helpful mentor Ian. Together with my mentor, I planned, budgeted, and developed a timeline for my project.

I am a scholarship recipient at Everyone’s Music School, where I am training with a talented sing teacher. I love it! Also, I have found and contacted professional recording studios, and I had a tour at the Santa Cruz Recording Studios. When I visited the studio it felt like home, and I am truly hoping I will be able to fulfil my dream of being able to record in a professional studio. The owner offered me studio time in Studio A for the price of Studio D, and I am tentatively scheduled to record on January the 31 and February the 7th. My eight-grade project goal is to have a professional master mix production as my final product.

What I Need:

I have written, composed, and produced a song of my own. I have composed the live instrumental parts, and I have produced the beat, which the producers will help refine in the studio. I am ready, but I need your help to fund my studio time. I’m raising money to develop my final eight-grade product, but also because I get to work with some experienced and cool people who understand what it feels like to have music on your brain and in your body all the time! I want to learn all about producing and recording music, and I know I will learn a lot from them during this process. Finally, I plan to use my master mix production to play for producers and maybe even radio stations. All the money raised with go towards the cost of the studio time.
