Support Shiloh’s Journey to Stability

My name is Shiloh Foster, I’m a trans woman and musician on a long journey of finding home and safety.

At the end of a very long and harsh 2024, my last year spent in Nevada, I mustered up all the money I had, just shy of $300, with no cell service, packed my car and drove across 10 states until I landed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I am currently housed in a safe but temporary situation. I was very blessed to have loving friends help me along the way with nearly no incidents until my car stalled in the cold in Ohio just 2 hours from pgh.

Before leaving Nevada, I should preface a check engine light came on for the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, something a friend of mine assured would make it through the trip. Fast forward back to Ohio, after praying and waiting out being stuck for hours, miraculously, she started up and got me to my temporary housing, but since arriving, struggles to turn over in the frigid winter and remains immobile and I’ve had to cancel my insurance.

Without cell service, healthcare, insurance, a job or a working car, all with the winter fluctuating, it has been difficult to settle and work towards having my own space. I really didn’t feel comfortable making a gofundme again, but many friends have nudged me to consider it as I struggle to settle. I’m humbly asking my community for assistance with maintenance on my vehicle / registration / insurance as well as securing housing with first and last / deposits.

It has been a very long and tiring journey working towards feeling safe and secure again, and with the current administration those fears are gravely exacerbated.
