Support Shianne as she gets back on her feet

Hi friends and family,

This fundraiser is to support our beloved Shianne. Firstly— she is okay and at home recovering. This message has a big TRIGGER WARNING re:assult and violence.

As many of you know, Shianne recently suffered a violent attack at the hands of her ex, Damien. This GoFundMe is to support her as she heals physically and emotionally from the intensity of this trauma.

Right now bodywork, chiropractic, healing work, therapy, etc are needed.

While she deals with the trauma of being attacked in her own home and nearly losing her life, she will also need practical and financial help. Shianne is an independent artist and it will be a while until she can work again and she could really use the community’s support.

This fundraiser will go directly to helping Shianne pay rent, buy groceries, pay her car payments, get more wood delivered and stacked for the rest of the winter and get the bodywork and trauma work that she needs to heal.

Backstory:

Shianne recently had a 3.5 month long relationship with a man named Damien. He was very kind and loving throughout the relationship, and in the breakup began to show signs of mental/emotional instability via erratic messages & one time showing up unannounced emotionally distraught.

What Happened:

On the night of January 16th, Shianne came home late and was having her friend Emilio spend the night. Emilio was in his car while Shianne was sprucing up the house for a guest. Shianne noticed that her bedding was amiss in her room, and went to make the bed when Damien popped out from hiding under bedding in the corner of the room and attacked her. He strangled her, as well as assaulted her with a knife. He also tried to position himself so that she would harm him with the knife. The struggle lasted for about 10-15 minutes, and moved from her bedroom, to outside, to back inside. She was slammed into the doorframe, and on the concrete, and cut on her hand. At multiple points, Shianne was certain she would not make it/escape his strangulation. Eventually Emilio came in and ended up knocking Damien out and restraining him with his body weight. Emilio called the police and they were there within a minute and detained Damien. Damien is now in jail facing very serious charges. Fact of the matter is— Shianne almost lost her life at the hands of Damien. Emilio literally saved Shianne’s life. If he was not there, we would likely be having to write a very different message.

Shianne’s wellbeing:

Shianne has some bruising on her throat, a bump & cut on her forehead, a cut on her hand, and a busted lip. Her neck is ‘crooked’, and in pain. Her throat is very sore, mostly internally when swallowing. Her body aches from the INCREDIBLE fight she put up for her life.

Shianne is managing as best she can. She has had a lot of support from those of us closest to her.

She is so incredibly strong and supported.
