UPDATE:

Sherry is out of the hospital and she is in hotel where has to stay for 3-6 weeks. She is doing good, improving every day.

If you know Sherry, you know she is always willing to fundraise and help out. She has probably raised more money for the youth in Butte than anyone else over the last 20 years. Now it’s time to help her out a little…

I didn’t ask Sherry if this fundraiser is ok to do for her…she might not be happy with me (sorry, Sherry) but it was a last-minute decision. I don’t know Sherry’s whole story, but I know she has been through a lot over the last 5 years. She has never asked for help from me, but I do know she will be missing work for a while after her surgery. I do know a little boost will help her recover faster financially.

Let’s support a Butte girl that is always supporting Butte.

Here is Sherry’s post from today:

I am beyond excited to finally be able to make this post. 1859 days ago, I was told I was in renal failure and I would eventually need dialysis and then a transplant. 1385 days ago, I was placed on the transplant list. 1183 days ago, I began dialysis. Thankfully, I did very well on dialysis and I was able to live my life as normal as I possibly could. Well, tonight I will be going in for surgery to receive a new kidney. I am beyond thankful for the donor’s family for selflessly donating their loved one’s organs.

I want to thank my family and Kelly’s family, along with all our friends, for all their support over the last 5 years. I’m praying for a successful surgery tonight and a quick recovery. I will spend my recovery in Spokane with my mom as my caregiver. My dad and Kelly are here now for at least a week to make sure all goes well.
