Sherry Eichelberger has recently been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). If you shop at Winding Creek Nursery in Millbrook, Illinois, you may know or recognize her. She is one of the friendly faces at the nursery that does everything. Her husband, Paul, works there too. She was diagnosed on Sunday, March 30th, 2025, and was sent immediately to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for treatment. She underwent one week of injected chemotherapy and then transitioned to oral chemo. The doctors tell us that she will need at least 30 days of in-hospital treatment and possibly longer before she can return home. After that, it is unknown what type of treatment will be needed. Stem cell transplant is currently being considered.

Sherry has been unable to work since treatment began and will likely not return to work until after she has won this battle. Paul, her husband, has also not worked much because he has been staying at the hospital with Sherry. It is a 1 1/2 hour trip to the hospital from Millbrook, Illinois, making it nearly impossible to get there expeditiously if needed. Sherry and Paul also have a son and daughter, Sherry's elderly mother, Sherry's sister, and several grandchildren in Millbrook.

The medical costs are mounting rapidly. Never having done this type of fundraiser, we really aren't sure what to ask for. Prayers are first. Please pray for God's grace and healing along with wisdom for the healthcare team and strength and peace for Sherry and Paul.
